Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said all television channels are enjoying full independence
Dhaka (Md Abdur Rahman). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said all the television channels in the country are enjoying full independence.
She said this when a delegation from the Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO) visited the Prime Minister’s office on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that at one time there was only one television channel, BTV (Bangladesh Television) in Bangladesh and after taking charge of the Awami League government in 1996, this media industry was opened to the private sector.
She added that all television channels are enjoying full independence.
ATCO leaders told the Prime Minister that they have been working sincerely with the authorities concerned to start broadcasting of all private television channels using Bangabandhu Satellite-1.
Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Prime Minister’s Advisor and Independent Television owner Salman F Rahman and Information Secretary Abdul Malek were present on the occasion.
