China will talks with Myanmar on Rohingya
Dhaka/Md Abdur Rahman. Bangladesh is set to hold a meeting with Myanmar for return Rohingya and China will play the role of mediator in this matter.
After discussing the latest situation of the crisis with the diplomats and representatives of international organizations held in Padma at the state guest house Padma on Thursday, the Foreign Minister said that the answer to the question of journalists, AK Abdul Momen.
Dr. Momen said the meeting’s date was not set, “I had a talk with the new Chinese Ambassador. They will talk to Myanmar and then make a decision.”
Replying to a question to reporters, the Foreign Minister said that China had said that Rohingya was on the side of Bangladesh to resolve the crisis. Both Myanmar and Bangladesh consider them friendly. They want to work together to solve this problem.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary, Senior officials of the ministry including Shahidul Haq were present in meeting. Diplomats from different countries and representatives from different UN agencies were participated in the briefing.
Accordingly, the Rohingya left Rakhine on August 25 ,2017 in Bangladesh in the face of persecution of Myanmar army. That number surpasses seven million in a few days. Already more than four lakh Rohingya were staying in Bangladesh.
