Fire in Rohingya camp in Ukhia hundreds of houses burnt down

MD Abdur Rahman’Dhaka. Hundreds of houses and more than 30 shops were gutted in a fire at the Kutupalong Lombashia Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

The fire broke out around 9 am on Tuesday. Later the fire was brought under control by the fire service personnel. No casualties were reported at the time.

Ukhia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nikaruzzaman Chowdhury said more than 100 Rohingya houses and more than 30 shops were gutted in a fire at the Kutupalong Lombashia Rohingya camp this morning.

Ukhia Fire Service personnel went to the spot and brought the fire under control. Five Rohingyas were injured in the fire. They are being treated.

He also said that emergency measures are being taken for the victims after inspecting the spot.
