PCB will select players through artificial intelligence technology

Kolkata, Baby Chakraborty. The recent performance of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team has disappointed the Pakistan Board. PCB chief, Mausin Naqvi announced that artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be used to select deserving players from Pakistan’s domestic cricket. Information technology, e-commerce or various other business fields have been improved through this new technology.

PCB will be the first cricket board in the world to select players through “AI” technology. In a press conference, Naqvi expressed his displeasure with the current performance of the men’s cricket team, especially the loss to Bangladesh on home soil. After Pakistan’s withdrawal from the 2024 T20 World Cup competition, he said that the Pakistan cricket team needs to be changed quickly.

He said, “The problem is that the selection committee doesn’t have any information from which to select new players. We have a problem but we don’t know how to solve that problem. We will find some new talent from the Champions Cup and we will collect their information. Based on this information we will create a pool of 150 players. The people of Pakistan want to drop 4-5 players from the team but how can they be dropped if they don’t find new qualified players?”

Naqvi also said, “The eligibility of the 150 players who will be selected will be determined 80% through AI technology and 20% through the opinion of the selection committee. We will give 20% importance to the opinion of the selection committee.

If we replace any player with an ineligible player then You’ll be the first to blame us. With the new technology we’ll have all kinds of information. We’ll have transparency as to why someone got in or out of the team.”

According to the PCB chief, they will have all the players’ information after the Champions Cup, which ends in September. If a player fails to perform well, he will be replaced by a suitable player. In this case, one’s own opinion or wish will not be important.
