New Delhi. Delhi Study Group (prominent Indian NGO) led by President Dr. Vijay Jolly organized a grand program to Promote People to People Friendship between India & Africa at Constitution Club, New Delhi.Delhi Study Group honored 38 African Head of Missions in India with saffron scarf’s and with presentation of mementos & gifts. Chief Guest on the occasion was Dean of African Missions in India & Mozambique High Commissioner Ermindo Augusto Ferreira. Special Guest South Delhi Member of Parliament Ramvir Singh Bidhuri could not attend due to fever but was represented by his son Surendra Singh Bidhuri. Patron Vijay Mehta (Honorary Consul of Romania) & Subhash Goyal (GSA of Ethiopia Airlines) attended and spoke at the program. Delhi Study Group President & MLA 3rd Legislative Assembly of Delhi Dr. Vijay Jolly in his address stated that “India Africa Relations” are at all time peak during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure. Dr. Jolly recollected that due to PM Modi’s initiative “Africa Union” was granted permanent membership in G-20 Summit.Dr. Jolly stressed closer cooperation between India & Africa in the sphere of agriculture, culture, cyber security, education, energy, maritime security, military, trade & technical cooperation. Today India is the third largest trading partner in Africa.
India’s trade with Africa in 2023 was to the tune of US 103 billion dollars. Dr. Jolly also lauded the cultural diplomacy of 3 million strong Indian Diaspora in Africa. India & Africa have a shared past, present & future stated Dr. Jolly.
