Samsung Galaxy A9 the world’s first smartphone with four cameras on back will available through Amazon India and Flipkart

New Delhi. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), the world’s first smartphone with four cameras on the back, will be made available through Amazon India and Flipkart. Both e-commerce sites have created a landing page for the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), meaning the premium mid-end smartphone will be sold through Amazon India as well as Flipkart.

The South Korean major has already sent media invites for the launch event, which will be taking place in Gurugram on November 20. The Galaxy A9 (2018) made its global debut in Malaysia last month.

As we have mentioned before, Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) will be made available through both Amazon India and Flipkart. Interested customers can register on Amazon India and get notified of updates regarding launch via the retailer’s “Notify Me” option. Similarly, Flipkart has also put out a teaser image and it confirms the availability of the camera-centric smartphone on the platform.

It’s no surprise to see why consumers will be able to purchase the device through both Amazon and Flipkart in India. Samsung sees the Galaxy A9 (2018) as a radical smartphone, which has not one, not two, not three, but four cameras on the device.

This is the world’s first smartphone with four cameras and perhaps the reason why Samsung wanted a wider availability of the device in India. We expect the smartphone to be available in the retail market as well, given Samsung’s hold on India’s offline market.

The quad cameras on the Galaxy A9 (2018), which are stacked vertically consist of a 24MP AF primary sensor with f/1.7, a 10MP telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom and f/2.4, an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide 120-degree lens, f/2.4 and a 5MP sensor for depth effect. The front camera is 24MP with f/2.0 aperture.

In terms of specifications, the phone sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Both the variants will be available with 128GB storage option.

The storage is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS and is backed by a 3,800mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2019) is squarely aimed at the OnePlus 6T, which starts at Rs 37,999 in India. Expect the Galaxy A9 (2018) to cost in the vicinity of Rs 35,999 when it launches on November 20.
