Kathmandu. ‘The Virtual Interaction Programme’ organized by National Indigenous Women’s Forum (NIWF) with an aim\u00a0 to build capacity\u00a0 of women parliamentarians of seven provinces has been completed today.<\/p>\n
The interaction programme was conducted by NIWF on 29 and 30 October and 1 and 2 November with support of the Parliamentary Support Project-PSP under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).<\/p>\n
The four-day long training was facilitated by experts from concerned areas. On the first day of the programme, Pemba Lama, a member of the Constituent Assembly and a GESI Expert, gave a presentation on “Intersectionality of Gender”. On the second day Advocate Dr. Kunsang Yonjan conducted a discussion on “Self-Monitoring and Self-Evaluation”.<\/p>\n
Similarly, on the third day of the programme, Communication Expert Amardhoj Lama facilitated the interaction on “Interpersonal Communication and Negotiation”. Likewise, Ram Sharan Pyakurel, Planning Expert facilitated on “Personality Development” on the fourth and final day.<\/p>\n
Raj Bahadur Shrestha, National Programme Manager of the Parliamentary Support Project (PSP) said that the province-level interaction programme was organized to strengthen the federal system of\u00a0 Nepal. Mr. Shrestha added that UNDP has a plan to help in organizing such programmes in the coming year as well.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Dr. Yam Bahadur Kisan, Parliament Affairs Team Leader at UNDP, Yashokanti Bhattachan, the Vice President of NIWF, Krishna Kumari Waiba, General Secretary and others expressed confidence that the virtual interaction would help to enhance the functioning of women MPs.<\/p>\n
Former Minister Karina Begum, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of\u00a0 Karnali Province Puspa Gharti\u00a0 (Bista) and 30 women CA members representing in the Province Parliaments from different communities have interacted in the programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
