Iranian media are reporting that the Hamas leader was killed by an \u201cairborne guided projectile\u201d that hit the residence where he was staying in the north of the capital, Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the attack took place at about 2am local time (22:30 GMT on Tuesday) at a special residence for military veterans in the north of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Hamas said its political chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed in \u201ca treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s president vows to make Israel \u2018regret cowardly action\u2019, as Supreme Leader Khamenei says avenging Haniyeh\u2019s killing is Tehran\u2019s duty.<\/p>\n<p>There was no immediate comment from Israel.
