Indian space research organization ISRO reached a significant milestone by successfully landing Chandrayaan-3’s lander and rover on the moon.With this, India became the fourth country to land on the Moon and the first to land near the Moon’s South Pole region. Pragyan rover successfully deployed after soft-landing.<\/p>\n
Recognizing this achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared August 23 as “National Space Day” in India. On the occasion of the first National Space Day on August 23, a quiz competition was held at Abhinav Bharti High School, Kolkata to highlight the activities of space and ISRO among the students.<\/p>\n
300 students and 100 teachers from 90 schools in East India participated in this competition organized by EduDime, an educational institution consisting of alumni of IIT Kharagpur.<\/p>\n
Siddharth Das, Professor of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur, two alumni of IIT Kharagpur, Rajeev Agarwal and Shubmoy Bakshi conducted the quiz competition on space and Ishro’s moon landing and highlighted India’s success in space exploration.<\/p>\n
