Hongkong. The signing ceremony of the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) was held in Hong Kong this morning.<\/p>\n
Foreign Minister Wang Yi addressed the ceremony. Thirty-three countries signed the Convention, making them founding members of IOMed. The ceremony was witnessed by high-level representatives from over 50 other countries and nearly 20 international organizations.<\/p>\n
As decided through consultation among countries to the negotiation of the Convention, IOMed will be headquartered in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
We look forward to the convention\u2019s early ratification by the signatory states, and welcome more countries to come on board. Hope the IOMed will play a positive role in the peaceful resolution of international disputes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
