During the Official Inauguration Ceremony of the Diplomatic Mission of the State of the African Diaspora (SOAD) in Italy and at the Holy See on June 25, 2026, numerous initiatives and concrete proposals emerged aimed at pursuing the Mission’s institutional objectives, with particular attention to the growth of the African and Afro-descendant community and the strengthening of international cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the central themes addressed during the event was the importance of consolidating social and institutional relationships for African and Afro-descendant communities, promoting projects capable of fostering inclusion, development, participation, and the empowerment of new generations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to actively involve young people in personal, cultural, and professional growth, offering them concrete tools to build their future through real opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

From this perspective, the presence of world Paralympic swimming record holder Luca Da Prato and Dr. Mauro Grimaldi, CEO of Federcalcio Servizi, represented a significant moment of discussion, which gave rise to the idea of developing future initiatives dedicated to youth integration through sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sport, in fact, has always been an extraordinary tool for social inclusion, capable of breaking down cultural and social barriers, fostering dialogue between peoples, and creating a sense of belonging, community, and solidarity. Investing in sport means offering young people not only the opportunity to pursue a dream, but above all the opportunity to build concrete goals, broadening their horizons and developing skills that can accompany them on their life journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of particular institutional importance was the participation of Her Excellency the Ambassador of Honduras to the Holy See, Gilliam G\u00f3mez Guifarro, whose presence further strengthened the value of diplomatic dialogue and international cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ambassador’s speech highlighted the importance of uniting forces between states and institutions to support the growth of the African Diaspora, promoting strong relationships, multilateral cooperation, and shared initiatives for Afro-descendants worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

The entire event also highlighted the profound esteem and recognition expressed by the many distinguished Excellencies and institutional figures present for the Head of Mission, Ambassador Professor Emanuele Mosca, who promoted the official launch of the Diplomatic Mission of the State of the African Diaspora in Italy and to the Holy See.<\/span><\/p>\n

With his guidance, Ambassador Mosca leads the Mission members towards achieving SOAD’s institutional objectives, drawing inspiration from the organization’s founding values: brotherhood, unity, family, mutual respect, dialogue, and service to the common good.<\/span><\/p>\n

His vision represents a point of reference for all members of the Mission, called to operate with responsibility, integrity, and a spirit of collaboration, so that diplomacy becomes a concrete instrument of human development, social inclusion, and international cooperation.<\/span>
\nThe inauguration of the SOAD Diplomatic Mission thus marks the beginning of a journey aimed at strengthening ties between peoples, institutions, and communities, promoting a network of relationships founded on the values of peace, solidarity, and shared growth.<\/span><\/p>\n
