New York\/Kathmandu, August 24, 2026 – International President of the SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF), Raju Lama, undertook a wide range of professional, diplomatic and journalistic activities in the United States from April 10 to August 20, 2026, strengthening the voice of South Asian journalists and expanding SJF\u2019s engagement with international media, diplomatic and multilateral institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

During his stay in the United States, Lama focused on promoting press freedom, journalists\u2019 rights, international media cooperation, South Asian issues and the role of journalism in strengthening democracy and regional cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Engagement with the United Nations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the major areas of Lama\u2019s activities in the United States was his engagement with the United Nations and international policy forums in New York.<\/span><\/p>\n

He attended the 25th Session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from April 13\u201317, 2026.
