Dubai. A discussion meeting was held at the initiative of the SAARC Journalists Forum, United Arab Emirates, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the SAARC countries. This organization named SAARC began its journey on December 8, 1985, to further strengthen economic, social, humanitarian and cultural relations between the 8 countries of the southern subcontinent. Through this organization, Bangladesh moved forward in bilateral agreements with India, including the water agreement, and with the Maldives and Myanmar.
In continuation of this, the SAARC Journalists Forum and journalists from all countries residing in the Emirates, not only from the 8 countries included in SAARC, want to highlight the regional problems of Asia and move forward in implementing them. In addition, the leaders of the organization believe that it will be convenient to highlight any problems of expatriate Bangladeshis residing in the Emirates in the international arena through this organization. The journalist leaders present said that it should be the job of real journalists to prove that journalism is not just in name but also in action. Who is a professional and who is not is proven through their actions.
