Kathmandu. The Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army, General MM Naravane has been conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army.
Special ceremony has been organised at the Sheetal Niwas in Kathmandu to conferred the highest rank of Nepal Army on Naravane by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Indian Ambassador Vinay M Kwatra and other senior government officials of both the countries.
The practice follows a seven decade old tradition of conferring Army Chiefs of each other’s country with the honorary title.
In January last year, Chief of Army Staff of Nepali Army General Purna Chandra Thapa was also conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army by President Ram Nath Kovind at a special ceremony held in New Delhi.






It is nice that Nepal has accepted the predence confirred between both India Nepal. We are happy. Nepal must consider Indo Nepal relationship. It is India, which hehelps It neighbours. Nepal must not go with China. China will never help Nepal. Thnks to Nepal citizens and Nepal Government.
