Kathmandu. Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav said that communication sector has an important role in every movement of the people along with the change of the country and democratic struggle and emphasized that the communication sector should be fully inclusive. During the meeting held with the representatives of National Journalist Newar Forum at the Vice President’s office on Wednesday, he stressed on this point.Appreciating the role of the media world for social justice, democracy and change, President Yadav said that if the media sector is inclusive, more people’s voices can be raised. Mentioning that Nepal’s diverse language and culture are an important means of increasing the sense of national unity and he also said that journalism should contribute to its preservation.
Vice President Yadav said that he will also draw attention to the adoption of appropriate policies for the inclusiveness of the Nepali media sector and the development of mother language journalism.On this occasion, President of Forum Nripendra Lal Shrestha presented certificate of appreciation to the Vice President Yadav. Similarly, Senior Vice President Sunil Maharjan presented a letter of attention to Yadav containing policies and programs to be implemented by the state in relation to inclusive communication.
Forum’s General Secretary Krishnakaji Manandhar, Secretary Raju Napit, Joint Secretary Sunita Dangol gave their views focusing on the need to develop inclusive and mother tongue journalism for the highest practice of press freedom.
