Qingdao. Defence minister Rajnath Singh met his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun at the sidelines of the SCO summit in Qingdao, marking the first interaction between the two leaders since an agreement to resolve border disputes in Ladakh was signed.
“Held talks with Admiral Don Jun, the Defence Minister of China, on the sidelines of SCO Defence Minitsers’ Meeting in Qingdao. We had a constructive and forward looking exchange of views on issues pertaining to bilateral relations,” tweeted by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
“Expressed my happiness on restarting of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after a gap of nearly six years. It is incumbent on both the sides to maintain this positive momentum and avoid adding new complexities in the bilateral relationship,” said by Defence Minister of India.
Chinese media reports quoting China’s Ministry of National Defense said that Singh called India and China as neighbours that cannot be separated. The reports also quoted him saying that India wants to “properly manage differences, enhance communication and mutual trust and promote steady development of bilateral relations”.
