Beijing. China has strongly objected to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s visit to India, where he met with representatives of the Dalai Lama, a Tibetan Buddhist monk.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the issue of Tibet was entirely China’s internal affairs and no foreign intervention was acceptable. He said China opposes any contact between a foreign official and the Dalai Lama.

China has also stressed that the United States must live up to its commitments. Foreign Minister Zhao said China is ready to take every step to protect its interests.

These days tensions are rising between China and the United States, which have been considered powerful in recent times.

As a result China has held talks with Taliban leaders since the United States began withdrawing troops from Afghanistan.
