Ashta Laxmi Shakya has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Bagmati

"I never said to divide party, I believed in the collective leadership of the party. I believe only unity will make the party strong. There has been so much political change, we can save this achievement only through unified party, ”said newly appointed CM Shakya.

Kathmandu. Ashta Laxmi Shakya has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Bagmati. She is appointed as a first Lady Chief Minister in history of Nepal.

After the resignation of Chief Minister Dormani Poudel, the State Chief of Bagmati Province has appointed Shakya as the CM as she is leader of the parliamentary party of the majority party. She has taken oath as CM of Bagmati Province.

Immediately after taking oath, Chief Minister Shakya has appointed two ministers.  She has appointed Keshav Pandey as Minister for Internal Affairs and Physical Infrastructure and Krishna Khanal as Minister for Social Development.

Shakya was nominated as the leader of the parliamentary party by the outgoing Chief Minister Dormani Poudel. Shakya, who is preparing to become the chief minister, has said that she has never been in favor of party division.

“I never said to divide party, I believed in the collective leadership of the party. I believe only unity will make the party strong. There has been so much political change, we can save this achievement only through unified party, ”said newly appointed CM Shakya.
