New Delhi. Under the auspices of the House of Political Empowerment, a Research and Innovation Institute (HOPE), All India Convener of Prajna Pravah and editor of the book ‘Lok, Beyond Folk’, Shri J Nandkumar was the Chief guest of programme.The program was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh and Guest of Honour former Union Minister and MP, Dr. Satyapal Singh were other eminent personalities who participated in book discussion.Eminent political scientist, presently Director of University of Delhi (South Campus), Prof. Shri Prakash Singh expressed his views and further enriched the discussion. Prof. Yogesh Singh initiated the discussion and expressed concern over the decline of national self-respect for many centuries and expressed hope for restoration of national self-respect under the National Education Policy 2020. He said that the role of teaching fraternity is utmost important in making youth to feel the national self-respect and how to protect it.
Emphasizing on the need of social and human values, Dr. Satyapal Singh said that the National Education Policy 2020 can do monumental work in this direction, but it needs to be improved on some matters. In this regard, he mentioned the efforts being made by the government and expressed his displeasure that there is a need to alter certain dimensions of the education policy and asked the academicians and vice-chancellors to work for the same.
Chief guest and editor of the book, Lok, Beyond Folk, Shri J Nandkumar explained the relationship between Lok and Folk in detail. He argued, how Leftist ideologues have diminished Bharatiya culture and established such use of terminology within the Bharatiya public, which knowingly or unknowingly harmed our Sanatan culture. Criticizing the old education policy, he said that if the younger generation has gone astray, then it is not their fault but the previous education policies are responsible for it.The program was successfully conducted by Dr. Sanjay Verma, Assistant Professor, Kirori Mal College and Senior Advisor-HoPE. The patron and director of ‘Hope’ organization Digvijay Singh and Anant Prakash and other respected members played an important role in organizing the program.
Dr. Kunwar Pranjal Singh, Convener of Research and Publications Department of Hope said that this book is an interesting attempt to understand the national culture beyond the established notions of Lok and Folk. Hope Foundation is a medium to reach the last person standing in the queue through literature, research, seminar, debate and training.
