Dhaka. SAARC Journalist Forum is an international organisation of journalists made up of journalists from eight SAARC countries. This organization periodically organised International Journalists Summit every year in different SAARC countries. “South Asia Media Summit-2024” is likely to be held in Dhaka in February/March 2024.The meeting of SAARC Journalist Forum leaders was held today with Prof. Aftab Hossain, Head of Department of Journalism, Media and Communication of the Daffodil University concern on upcoming international media summit. Talks were concern on to organise the upcoming South Asia Media Summit jointly with Daffodil International University.
SJF BD Chapter’s General Secretary Najma Sultana Neela, Executive Member Tapu Ghoshal, AKM Noman were present in the meeting under the leadership of SAARC Journalist Forum Central Committee Secretary General Md Abdur Rahman.
Prof. Aftab Hussain, Head of the Department of Journalism Media and Communication of the University was also present along with Journalism Department Professor Md. Abdul Kabil Khan and Coordinator Sharmin Haque during the meeting.
In the meeting fruitful discussions were done on jointly organising the South Asia Media Summit-2024 in Dhaka. After the meeting, SAARC Journalist Forum leaders visited international conference hall of Daffodil University.
It should be noted that last 10 & 11 January for two days Gautam Buddha University, Noida and SAARC Journalist Forum jointly organised the International Journalist Conference in India. About three hundred journalists from SAARC countries were present in the international media summit held in Noida.
For the first time in Bangladesh, SAARC Journalist Forum is organising the largest media summit with eight South Asian countries and extensive preparations are going on for this event.
