The agitating students set fire to the Bangladesh Television (BTV)

It is reported that hundreds of protestors broke gate number 4 of BTV and entered inside

MD Abdur Rahman, Dhaka. Quota agitating students set fire to the Bangladesh Television (BTV) gate at Rampura in the capital.

This incident happened on Thursday (July 18) around 3:30 pm. At that time, it is reported that hundreds of protestors broke gate number 4 of BTV and entered inside. They are said to have set fire to various places inside BTV.

Then at 6:39 PM, Bangladesh Television’s verified Facebook post said, “There was a terrible fire at BTV spreading rapidly. Requesting the speedy cooperation of the fire service. Many are trapped inside.”

BTV Director (Administration) Ruhul Amin said in the afternoon, “Fire has set fire to various rooms including the garage on the ground floor. The fire is still burning.

Police, BGB, Fire Service nobody has come yet. We are trapped inside. The situation is bad. But till now important offices and archives are safe. Hundreds of protesters are stationed outside.”
