Problem in Microsoft the whole world is in a state of panic

Washington. Major U.S. carriers including American Airlines (AAL.O), opens new tab, Delta Airlines (DAL.N), opens new tab and United Airlines <UAL.O> issued ground stops on Friday morning citing communication issues, less than an hour after Microsoft resolved its cloud services outage that impacted several low-cost carriers.

It was not immediately clear whether the call to keep flights from taking off were related to the earlier Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab cloud outage. Apart from American and Delta, UAL and Allegiant Air <ALGT.O> too grounded flights.

Kyiv hopes AI-enabled drones on the frontline will combat increasing signal jamming by Russia and enable unmanned aerial vehicles to work in larger groups.

The FAA did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.

Low-cost carriers Frontier Airlines, a unit of Frontier Group Holdings (ULCC.O), opens new tab, Allegiant and SunCountry (SNCY.O), opens new tab had earlier reported outages that affected operations. Frontier said late Thursday that it was in the process of resuming normal operations, and that the ground stop had been lifted.

Frontier said earlier that a “major Microsoft technical outage” hit its operations temporarily, while SunCountry said a third-party vendor affected its booking and check-in facilities, without naming the company. – Reuters
