Baby Chakraborty, Kolkata. Calcutta High Court has ordered to publish the new merit list. The fact that there were complications in the recruitment process in several cases has brought a message of relief. The possibility of 14,000 candidates getting jobs is again in Puja. The commission will publish the final list within four weeks. This complication continued for almost nine years. Finally, around ten years this recruitment process got stuck. This is big news for those whose names on the panel have not been appointed.
The court said that 1463 people have been excluded from the merit list and their verification and interview have been completed. After that, these candidates cannot be excluded unilaterally. As a result they have to be included in the merit list again. If all goes well, 14,052 teachers can be appointed before Puja. On this day, Calcutta High Court gave judgment in the case of recruitment of teachers in higher primary. The Calcutta High Court gave a big decision in the upper primary teacher recruitment case.
A division bench of Justice Tapobrata Chakraborty and Justice Parthasarathy Chattopadhyay decided the case. With this verdict, after 9 long years, the confusion related to recruitment in higher primary ended. Calcutta High Court has given permission to recruit about 14 thousand 52 vacancies in higher primary. 1 thousand 463 persons excluded from the merit list were ordered to publish the merit list on this day. The School Service Commission has been instructed to give the necessary counseling within the next 4 weeks. In relation to the related case, the School Service Commission said in 2021 that 1 thousand 463 people have been excluded from the recruitment process by re-evaluating the OMR sheets.
On this day, the High Court said in its judgment that the process of excluding those candidates was not correct. The reason for this, the High Court said, is that a long time has already passed. It is not possible to know where and how many marks those candidates who have been excluded from the process have obtained. Their interview and counseling process has already been completed. As a result, the process of reevaluating OMR sheets and excluding them is not correct. Along with this, the High Court said that the School Service Commission should publish the merit list of 14 thousand 52 candidates by adding the excluded candidates.
It has been ordered to complete this work within the next 4 weeks. The School Service Commission has been asked to complete this process quickly and conduct counseling on time after publishing the merit list. This process should be completed quickly and the recommendation letters should be distributed to the eligible teachers immediately so that the teacher educators can join their schools quickly. Schools are virtually closed due to non-appointment of teachers in upper primary for almost 10 years.
The case was first started in August 2016 in the single bench of the High Court regarding this appointment. Subsequently, the case is pending in the Division Bench from July 2021. The court has repeatedly changed the bench in the hearing of this case. Incidentally, from November 6 to December 2, the counseling of 8,900 panel candidates has been completed. But none of these candidates who have completed the counseling have yet joined the teaching post.
The agitation for their joining and counseling and joining of the waiting list for remaining vacancies has been going on for a long time. Now with the recent verdict of the Calcutta High Court, the long wait is over for the examination hall.
