Baby Chakraborty, Kolkata. Semicon India 2024 conference started in Uttar Pradesh from Wednesday. Inaugurating the conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “This is the right time to be in India. You are at the right time and the right place. Chips will not be a problem in the 21st century. Today’s India has made the world believe that if there is a chip crisis, you can count on India.”
He said, “The country’s electronics sector is now worth 150 billion US dollars. But the prime minister aims to make it 500 billion US dollars by the end of this decade. We are preparing a workforce of 85,000 technicians, engineers and research and development experts. India’s focus is to prepare its students and professionals for the semiconductor industry.”
Prime Minister came to this event and said this. On this occasion, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnab said, “So far technology has reached the hands of citizens through steps like Digital India Mission or Telecom Mission. As a result, the semiconductor industry in the country has improved tremendously.”
The theme of the Semicon India 2024 event this year is ‘Shaping the Semiconductor Future’. The three-day conference is set to showcase semiconductor strategies and policies that plan to make the country a global hub for semiconductors.
