Bangkok. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived in Bangkok, Thailand today on an official visit to Thailand and to participate in the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
Prime Minister Oli arrived in Bangkok at 6.15 pm local time on Tuesday evening.
He was welcomed at the special hall of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Jungraungrengkit and his wife, Minister of Culture and Sports Sorawong Thembong and his wife, Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli, and Thai Ambassador to Nepal Sawapong Sirisorn.
This is the first official visit by a Nepali Prime Minister to Thailand at the friendly invitation of Thai Prime Minister Peth Thong Than Shinawatra.
Prime Minister Oli’s visiting delegation includes First Lady Radhika Shakya, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal Ek Narayan Aryal, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others.
