Kathmandu. A delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Congress Xiao Qi, who is visiting Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.
In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, the Chinese team wished for the success of the Sagarmatha Dialogue to be held in Kathmandu from June 20 and said that China is ready to further enhance the long-term and friendly relations between the two countries.
He conveyed the Chinese leadership’s best wishes for the development and prosperity of Nepal and recalled that Prime Minister Oli’s official visit to China last December was successful.
Stating that Nepal and China have had friendly, problem-free and cordial relations for a long time, Prime Minister Oli said that he was happy with the rapid development made by China in the fields of development and technology and its global impact.
Recalling the recent visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal, Prime Minister Oli said that the visit was multifaceted and historic. He reiterated that Nepal is fully committed to the One-China policy and stressed the need for all parties to take the initiative for the implementation of the cooperation agreements between the two countries.
