Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the Sagarmatha Dialogue has been organized as a global dialogue by embracing the reality that saving the mountains means saving the earth, oceans and humanity itself.
Addressing the inaugural session of the Sagarmatha Dialogue organized by the Government of Nepal for the first time today, Prime Minister Oli clarified that the dialogue was born in the name of the highest peak, Mount Everest, to exchange honest dialogue and mutual knowledge and take collective action within this deep interdependent reality.
“We hope that this dialogue will be as high. May it be high in high moral clarity, strong intellectual courage and an unwavering common vision for building a beautiful future.”, Prime Minister Oli said, “Our homes are being swept away by landslides. Floods and droughts come suddenly but still, we are holding on. Our emissions are low but our contributions to environmental protection are significant.”
