Dhaka. A three-member delegation from Bangladesh is departing for New Delhi, India, to participate in several high-profile international conferences at the South Asian regional level.
The delegation consists of top leaders from the SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF). The delegation will be led by Shihabur Rahman, Online Editor of The Financial Express and General Secretary of the SJF Bangladesh Chapter.
Other members of the delegation include:
Noor Nabi Senior Correspondent of Daily Ajker Provat and Vice President of the SJF Bangladesh Chapter. Md. Abdur Rahman Senior Correspondent of The Bangladesh Post and Secretary General of the SAARC Journalist Forum Central Committee.
Three-Day Program Schedule:
During their visit, the journalists will participate in three major events in Delhi:
South Asian Heroes Awards: On February 6 at 6:30 PM, they will attend an award ceremony organized by the ‘South Asian Region Collaboration Foundation, Sri Lanka’ at the Opal Ballroom of the five-star Crowne Plaza Hotel in New Delhi.
Media Conclave: On February 7 at 4:00 PM, they will take part in a Media Conclave titled “Security and Development in South Asia: An Overview Through the Lens of Media and Journalism” at the Shyam Lal College (Evening) Auditorium, University of Delhi. The event is jointly organized by the college’s IQAC and the SAARC Journalist Forum, India Chapter.
International Conference: On the final day, February 8, they will deliver keynote speeches at an international conference on the “Role of Journalism in Peacemaking and Cooperation in South Asian Countries” at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Educational Campus.
It is expected that this visit will strengthen mutual relations among South Asian journalists and pave the way for new avenues of regional peace and cooperation.
Following the conferences, the delegation is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) and visit several famous historical landmarks in Delhi.
