Dhaka. Foreign Minister Hon’ble Dr. Khalilur Rahman received H.E. Mr. Md. Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of SAARC, today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the Secretary General briefed the Minister on the current activities and progress of SAARC. Reaffirming Bangladesh’s unwavering commitment to the SAARC process, Dr. Rahman expressed Bangladesh’s readiness to take proactive steps to revitalize regional cooperation.
The Foreign Minister also took a moment to reflect on the roots of the organization, recalling that the visionary idea for South Asian regional cooperation was first proposed in the early 1980s by the late President Ziaur Rahman.
Bangladesh remains dedicated to fostering a more integrated and prosperous South Asia.
