Islamabad. Pakistan has presented a two-stage framework to the US and Iran: an immediate ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, followed by a broader settlement.
The plan, dubbed the “Islamabad Accord”, envisions a 45-day truce with final negotiations in Islamabad, Reuters and Axios reported.
Tehran seeks a permanent ceasefire with guarantees against future attacks, while Washington demands Iran halt nuclear weapons development in exchange for sanctions relief.
