Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued an order to appoint Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister within two days.
The Constitutional Court passed the order in favor of petitioner Sher Bahadur Deuba in the petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
A bench of Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, including Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra, passed the order.
The decision of the President to dissolve the House of Representatives on the recommendation of the government has been overturned by the Supreme Court.
A five-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court on Monday afternoon overturned the decision to dissolve parliament.
With this order of the Supreme Court, the House of Representatives has been re-established. The Supreme Court has also issued an order to convene a meeting of the House of Representatives within seven days.
Along with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, 146 lawmakers had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding reinstatement of the House of
