New Delhi. The Joint Forum of Journalist’s Association has announced a protest against PIB in the upcoming session of Parliament. They are fighting against dictatorship in PIB renewal and new accreditation.
During this a demand will also be made for the Journalist Protection Act and the acquisition of the country’s old news agency UNI.
Joint Forum, convener Sultan S. Qureshi has given this information, here today. Apart from the organizations involved in the Joint Forum, Press Club of India and National Women’s Press Club and other organizations are also being invited for this, he said.Joint Forum includes SAARC Journalist Forum, United Indian Journalist Association, Periodical Press of India, Indian Journalist Association and Save UNI Movement etc.
A memorandum was given to the Principal Director General of PIB, Mr. Jaideep Bhatnagar, on May 14, but he has not yet given any reply. This makes his intention clear.
SAARC International Vice President Ram Nath Vidrohi, India Chapter General Secretary Sushil Bharti, UIJA President Umendra Dadhich and PPI Chief Dr. Surendra Sharma said that this is a democracy and there is no place for dictatorship.
President Raju Lama, General Secretary Md Abdur Rahman, India Chapter President Sudhansu Anirudha of SJF has given solidarity in the joint demonstration against dictatorship of PIB and urge all journalists to join the protest.
