The speakers of a program said that the role of the media is important in addressing the issues of local concern from the relevant bodies along with the preservation of language, culture and heritage. This was said in the welcoming and introductory program of the newly elected officials of National Forum of Newar Journalist, organized by Tamrakar Samaj on last Friday.
On that occasion, Binod Tamrakar President of the society, said that the role of the media is important in dealing with the problems created due to the wrong policies of the state ignoring the stakeholders, including promoting Nepal’s Bhasha, culture, heritage and original traditions.“During the expansion of the road, the community protested against the encroachment of Ugrachandi, the temple deity of Tamrakar, the reconstruction of the temple after the earthquake, the damage caused by the death of members of the society due to gas, the role of the media has been supportive in every activity of the society.” said the, President Tamrakar.
On that occasion, the current President of the society, Rabindra Raj Tamrakar, praised the contribution made by the media in the direction of achieving its goals and said that the society has been cooperating with everyone with a broad perspective.Stating that the society is working for the welfare of the whole Newar community and the entire Newar community, the outgoing President Tamrakar said that he understood well the importance of the media in solving the problems faced by the state, local level and working without coordination during various events.
Nripendra Lal Shrestha, Central President of National Forum of Newar Journalist, emphasized that other caste societies should learn from Tamrakar Samaj regarding cooperation with the media. The impact assessment has been institutionalized, this is a good part.President Shrestha said, ‘Before conducting any program, we have institutionalized the work of adopting an appropriate communication policy after discussing with the media, encouraging the knowledge and skills of communicating with the media, and evaluating the impact of the news. This is a good part.
Senior Vice President of National Forum of Newar Journalist Sunil Maharjan emphasized that when the interests of the wealthy and the interests of the community are in conflict with the state, media workers should exercise discretion and keep the interests of the community at the center of the journalism.

Vice President of the society Shambhu Govinda Tamrakar, Secretary Dipesh Tamrakar made their comments focusing on the fact that the media should reflect the voices and feelings of everyone in a country with diverse languages and communities. President of the National Form of Newar Journalist Lalitpur district Manju Bajaracharya said that the supportive role of the society in the institutional development of National Forum of Newar Journalist is memorable.
