New Delhi. Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi has expressed deep condolences on the demise of senior journalist Dr. Vedpratap Vaidik. He was 78 years old. He said that Dr. Vaidik’s efforts for Hindi language are inspirational for all of us. His writings will always guide the youth.
Pro. Dwivedi said that due to the demise of Vaidik ji, a big space has become vacant in Hindi journalism. He was a keen watcher on the events of the country and abroad. His knowledge of neighboring countries was unmatched. His death is an irreparable loss to Indian journalism. He said that no one can forget the movement he started regarding Hindi language. It is a very sad moment to not have such a sensitive journalist among us.The mortal remains of Dr. Vaidik will be kept at his residence Gurugram (242, Sector 55, Gurugram) on Wednesday from 9 am to 1 pm for the last darshan. His last rites will take place at Lodhi Crematorium, New Delhi on Wednesday at 4 pm. SAARC Journalist Forum also expressed its Rest in Peace for the great soul of Dr. Vaidik and heartfelt condolences to the his family.
Born on December 30, 1944 in Indore, Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik is remembered for his struggle to make Hindi the language of fundamental thought and to give Indian languages their due place. Dr. Vaidik obtained his PhD in International Politics from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. He was first person in India to write his treatise on international politics in Hindi.
