Kathmandu/Dhaka.The attack on journalist Shujaat Iqbal is a negation of democratic values. Such attitudes are strongly condemned by Raja Naveedul Rehman Secretary Finance SAARC Journalist Forum International Chapter Saudi Arabia and General Secretary Pak United Media Forum Saudi Arabia.
This incident is less to be condemned by the head of SAARC Journalist Forum International Chapter Saudi Arabia and Chairman Pak United Media Forum Saudi Arabia Abid Shamoon Chand.
President Arshad Ali Ghori, senior journalist Irfan Malik, senior journalist Zeeshan Haider and journalists of SAARC Journalist Forum International expressed serious concern on behalf of Pakistan United Media Forum and SAARC Journalist Forum after the attack on journalist Shujaat Iqbal of Pakistan.
The increase of such incidents in Azad Kashmir is a cause for concern, in this regard, SAARC Countries Journalist Forum International Chapter Saudi Arabia head Abid Shimoun Chand said that this is a very sad incident, which can be condemned as much. We strongly condemn the attack on free press in Azad Kashmir.
The entire organization of SAARC Journalists Forum will play its full role to protect the rights of journalists, attacks on journalists are against any civilized country and democratic values. The state of Azad Kashmir and Samahni administration should took immediate and effective measures to provide security to journalists.
It should be remembered that SAARC Journalist Forum is playing its role for the welfare of journalists. If effective measures are not taken on this incident, voice will be raised in SAARC countries as well.
SAARC Journalist Forum International President Raju Lama and General Secretary Md Abdur Rahman condemned against attacks to journalist Sujhat Iqbal and call on Pakistan government to assure security of journalists and press and expression freedom in the State and Country.
