Rio de Janeiro. Narendra Modi arrived in Rio de Janeiro today to participate in the 17th BRICS Summit, marking his 12th appearance at the forum. Over the next three days, he will join fellow heads of state in discussions on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, climate action, and global health.
Modi is also expected to raise India’s longstanding concerns about cross‑border terrorism during the summit’s plenary sessions. In addition to multilateral talks, he will hold bilateral meetings with several BRICS leaders on the sidelines.
Following the summit, Modi will travel to Brasília for a two‑day state visit, culminating in a bilateral meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The visit aims to deepen India–Brazil cooperation across technology, trade, and security.
