Manoj Mishra Elected as Taj Press Club President, Vivek Jain as General Secretary

The General Secretary contest was relatively one-sided, with Vivek Jain defeating his opponent Mahesh Dhakad (103 votes) by 35 votes, securing 138 votes. Vivek's substantial win is seen as an indication of his popularity within the organization.

Agra. The recent elections for the Taj Press Club, the most prestigious organization for journalists in the Taj City, witnessed several surprising results this time. Following a tough contest and a high-spirited competition, Manoj Mishra secured victory for the post of President, while Vivek Jain achieved a landslide win for the General Secretary position.

The unexpected victory of Dheeraj Sharma for the Treasurer’s post surprised everyone. ​High spirit from morning to evening ​the election, held on Saturday, saw tremendous enthusiasm among journalists from early morning. Long queues of journalists were visible outside the polling station at the club premises. Voting commenced at 9 AM and continued until 5 PM. Out of a total of 328 registered voters, 273 journalists cast their votes, which marks a strong voter turnout in the club’s electoral history.

​President Post: Manoj Mishra Wins by 14 Votes
​The contest for the highly prestigious President’s post was between Manoj Mishra and Desh Deepak Tiwari. The situation remained thrilling several times during the counting, but eventually, Manoj Mishra won by 14 votes, receiving 142 votes. Desh Deepak Tiwari secured 128 votes.

​General Secretary Post: Vivek Jain’s Landslide Victory
​The General Secretary contest was relatively one-sided, with Vivek Jain defeating his opponent Mahesh Dhakad (103 votes) by 35 votes, securing 138 votes. Vivek’s substantial win is seen as an indication of his popularity within the organization.

​Treasurer Post: Dheeraj Sharma Delivers a Shocking Defeat
​The competition for the Treasurer’s post was extremely interesting. Dheeraj Sharma registered a victory by defeating Sanjay Singh (87 votes) by 16 votes, receiving 103 votes. Among other candidates, Pradeep Rawat received 52 votes, and Amol Dixit got 28 votes. Dheeraj’s victory was considered highly unpredictable until the final round.

​Winners Declared for Vice President and Secretary Posts
​For the Vice President posts, Ajendra Singh Ajju, Sajjan Sagar, and Adarsh Nandan Gupt were declared winners.
​For the Secretary posts, Piyush Sharma, Alok Dwivedi, and Anil Kumar Rana achieved success.

​The following journalists were declared winners for the Executive Committee Member posts:

​Manish Jain
​Rajesh Kumar Sharma
​Jagat Narayan Sharma
​SP Singh
​Virendra Imal
​Jai Singh Verma
​Arun Rawat

​All these members have been elected to provide strong representation within the journalistic community. Celebration Mood at the Club Premises After Victory ​as soon as the counting concluded, there was immense excitement and joy among the winning candidates and their supporters. They congratulated each other by feeding sweets and garlanding the victors. The club premises witnessed an atmosphere like a festival of democracy throughout the day.

​Election Process Was Transparent and Peaceful
​The entire process of the Taj Press Club election remained highly transparent, peaceful, and well-organized. Due to the prudence of the Election Committee and the Returning Officers, the voting and counting process concluded without any disputes.
