By Raju Lama                                                Washington, D.C. — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, in Washington to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, regional security, and economic partnership between the United States and Kyrgyzstan.

According to the U.S. Department of State, the meeting focused on key priorities in U.S.–Kyrgyz relations, including expanding political dialogue, supporting economic development initiatives, and enhancing cooperation in areas such as governance, investment, and regional stability.

Kasymaliev’s visit to Washington comes as part of broader engagements with U.S. officials and international financial institutions, including discussions on economic reforms, infrastructure development, and strategic projects such as energy and digital transformation initiatives in Kyrgyzstan.

During the talks, Secretary Rubio and Chairman Kasymaliev exchanged views on strengthening institutional ties and advancing mutual interests in Central Asia, particularly in the context of ongoing geopolitical and economic shifts in the region.

The Kyrgyz delegation has also been holding parallel meetings with representatives of the World Bank and other international partners during the Washington visit, reflecting Kyrgyzstan’s focus on expanding cooperation with Western institutions and attracting investment.

Further details of the bilateral discussion are expected to be released by the U.S. State Department following the official readout of the meeting.
