Islamabad. Delegations from the United States and Iran are expected to arrive in Pakistan this weekend to participate in a new round of crucial diplomatic talks scheduled for Monday, signaling a renewed attempt to ease escalating tensions between the two nations.

According to officials familiar with the developments, the negotiations are likely to take place in the capital, Islamabad, where Pakistani authorities have been actively facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran. The meeting follows earlier rounds of discussions that, while failing to produce a breakthrough, succeeded in keeping communication channels open.

Pakistan has emerged as a key mediator in the ongoing crisis, leveraging its strategic position and diplomatic outreach to bring both sides back to the negotiating table. Analysts say the upcoming talks could play a pivotal role in determining whether tensions move toward de-escalation or further confrontation.

The agenda is expected to cover several critical issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and broader regional security concerns, particularly in the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz.

Despite continued diplomatic engagement, deep mistrust remains a major obstacle. Previous negotiations have stalled due to fundamental disagreements, raising uncertainty about the outcome of the upcoming meeting.

Security remains tight ahead of the talks, reflecting the fragile geopolitical environment. Reports indicate heightened precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of delegations, underscoring the high-stakes nature of the discussions.
