Defending champions Argentina booked their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final with a dramatic 2–1 comeback victory over England in the semifinal at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday.
England took the lead through Anthony Gordon in the second half and looked set for a famous victory. However, Argentina responded late in the match as Enzo Fernández equalized before substitute Lautaro Martínez headed home the winning goal in stoppage time after a superb assist from Lionel Messi.
