Kathmandu. US Ambassador to Nepal Ryandi Berry has called on Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. Meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs focused was on Nepal-US relations, mutual assistance and cooperation.
During the meeting, Home Minister Thapa congratulated Ambassador Berry the new President Joe Biden of the United States of America and wished him a successful tenure.
He expressed confidence that Nepal-US relations would reach at new heights during Biden’s tenure. Stating that a vaccination campaign against corona has started in Nepal, he said that Nepal expects to receive vaccination assistance from the United States as well.
Home Minister Thapa thanked the United States for its support in the areas of development, disaster management and training of security agencies. Home Minister Thapa said that the government had announced elections and expressed confidence that all parties would participate in the elections.
During the meeting, Ambassador Berry discussed Nepal-US relations and expressed confidence that these relations would be further strengthened during the tenure of US President Biden.
Talking about President Biden’s priorities, he said the United States would continue to support Nepal in the areas of democracy, human rights, climate change and other issues.
