SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF) Congratulates the New Prime Minister of Nepal

In a joint statement issued today, SJF President Raju Lama and Secretary General MD Abdur Rahman hailed his historic victory as the dawn of a new era in Nepalese politics.

KATHMANDU/DHAKA, March 29, 2026: SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF), the apex organization of journalists in South Asia, has extended its warmest congratulations to the newly appointed 47th Prime Minister of Nepal, Right Honorable Balendra (Balen) Shah.

In a joint statement issued today, SJF President Raju Lama and Secretary General MD Abdur Rahman hailed his historic victory as the dawn of a new era in Nepalese politics. They noted that his rise as a visionary young leader is a significant inspiration for emerging leadership across the South Asian region.The leaders expressed their optimism that under Prime Minister Balen Shah’s leadership, press freedom in Nepal will be further strengthened, and regional cooperation among journalists within the SAARC countries will reach new heights.

“We believe that Nepal will move rapidly toward prosperity and political stability under his bold guidance,” the statement added.

The SAARC Journalist Forum remains dedicated to promoting peace, stability, and the practice of free journalism in South Asia. The organization wished the newly appointed Prime Minister a successful tenure and good health.
