New Delhi, June 4, 2026 — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane held a meeting with Sergio Gor, the special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, in New Delhi during his official visit to India. According to party sources, the two leaders discussed a range of issues related to Nepal-U.S. relations and broader regional cooperation.

Lamichhane is currently visiting India at the invitation of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. During the visit, he has met several senior Indian leaders, including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, S. Jaishankar, and BJP officials, underscoring the growing engagement between Nepal’s ruling party and regional partners.

The meeting with Gor comes amid increasing U.S. diplomatic focus on South Asia. Gor, who serves as both U.S. Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, has been actively engaging with political leaders across the region to strengthen partnerships and discuss strategic, economic, and democratic cooperation.

Political observers view the Lamichhane-Gor meeting as a significant step in expanding dialogue between Nepal’s emerging political leadership and key international stakeholders, particularly the United States.
