Kathmandu. National Forum for Newar Journalist, a joint organization of Newar journalists across the country, has appointed foreign branch chiefs for 10 countries with the aim of uniting Newar journalists around the world.
According to Forum Vice President and Head of Organization Department Surendra Bhakta Shrestha, 29 district branches of the organization are active. The foreign branch expansion campaign has been launched with the aim of connecting journalists and media workers abroad with the organization.
Currently, Chandraman Maharjan for Japan, Anil Ranjit for America, Ashish Rajbhandari for the Netherlands, Dr. Raju Manandhar for Australia, Sachindra Shrestha for the UAE, Abhinash Dangol for Poland, Shiva Karanjit for Canada, Rajeshman Joshi for Portugal, Nayan Malla for Norway and Kumar Napit for Germany have been appointed as coordinators.
Established in Nepal Sambat 1132, call as Newa Journalist National Dabu is preparing to organize its 5th National General Convention and 15th General Assembly on a month of 4 and 5 September in Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality, Gorkha.
Nripendra Lal Shrestha President of NFNJ informed process of organization expansion and district convention has also been taken forward under the general convention. So far, the Gorkha district branch has completed the convention, while the Kavre district branch’s convention is scheduled to be held on Sunday.
Similarly, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Dhading district branches are scheduled to hold conventions soon. The organization has stated that district branches including Chitwan, Makawanpur, Sunsari, Arghakhanchi, Dolakha, Surkhet and Kaski have also started preparations for the convention.
