New Delhi, May 22, 2026 – A satirical online movement called the “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP) has gone viral across India, especially among Gen Z users frustrated over unemployment, inflation, and politics. What began as an internet joke has rapidly transformed into a major social media phenomenon.
The movement reportedly started after controversial remarks allegedly comparing unemployed youth to “cockroaches” triggered backlash online. In response, political strategist Abhijeet Dipke launched the satirical “party” with memes, parody campaign slogans, and humorous political messaging.
Within days, the CJP’s Instagram account reportedly crossed more than 10–15 million followers, even surpassing the follower count of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on the platform.
The group describes itself as the “Voice of the Lazy & Unemployed” and uses satire to discuss serious issues including youth unemployment, exam paper leaks, corruption, and political accountability.
Many analysts say the movement reflects growing frustration among young Indians and shows how memes and social media are increasingly shaping political discourse in India.
