Washington, May 29, 2026 – Ishaq Dar met with Marco Rubio in Washington, D.C., on May 29, 2026, for talks focused on strengthening Pakistan–U.S. relations and discussing regional security issues.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the recent positive momentum in bilateral ties and exchanged views on regional and global developments. They agreed to expand cooperation in trade, investment, security, and counterterrorism.
Secretary Rubio praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, particularly its role in facilitating dialogue related to the ongoing Iran crisis.
